Frist Annual Smalley Run

Taylor and her daddy completed the 1-mile run at the Smalley Elementary's first annual run. She was very proud of the medal she received for completing the race and Eric has decided that maybe its time to get back in shape.

Lyndsee went to her 4 month well check where we found out she weighs 16lbs 4oz and is 24.5 inches long. I was pretty shocked! Apparently she is around the 95% compared to other babies her age. I couldn't help but look up the stats for the rest of my kids at 4 months to see how she compares.

Megan

We went to Salt Lake for the second time in a month to see my niece Olivia baptized and to meet my new baby niece Megan. Megan was born weighing 9lbs. 15oz. Isn't she a cutie?!

Valentine

Can you guess what I got my family for Valentine's Day? I brought home a chocolate fountain with all the yummies to dip in it. My kids loved it and Taylor even exclaimed that this was the "best activity ever". All the fun made a very big mess. I wished that I had stripped all the kids down before starting our chocolate fountain feast. After putting all their clothes in the washer, I brought them into the bathroom for a much needed hand and face washing only to find that even I needed a face wash. I couldn't believe Eric hadn't told me I had chocolate all over my mouth! Didn't my husband look at me anymore? I went into the kitchen where he was cleaning up the mess there to give him a hard time only to notice that he had chocolate on his face too. I about laughed my head off. It was one of those moments that I don't soon want to forget. Love you Sweetey!

Discovering New Places

Eric and the kids had President's Day off so we had to get out and enjoy the lovely spring weather we are having right now. After passing Redstone on a couple of trips to Valley of Fire, we decided it was finally time to go and check it out. We started off with Eric getting the ropes ready so the kids could try out their kid sized harnesses. After Will and Reagan made an earnest effort, we realized we would need to practice a little more actual climbing and repelling at home (instead of just letting them swing in the harnesses).

We met up with Mike and Jasper (some friends from our neighborhood) and spent some time doing some climbing around without ropes.

Later, we joined up with our friends Kelly and Quinne and there family and had a picnic lunch. We found it strange that this picnic area in Lake Mead NRA only had one whole picnic table and it was occupied. After lunch, we took a little half mile loop around the beautiful "Redstone" that juts up in the middle of nothingness. It was a blast for the kids to stop and explore all the little holes and caves that pocked the surface of this red rock. Will, Reagan, Abe, Taylor and Lilly

Chunck of Lunk

Lyndsee loves to eat! Eric and I were fortunate enough to catch a movie while in Salt Lake last weekend thanks to mom who watched the kids. She fed Lyndsee a 4 oz bottle and an half hour later fed her another 4 oz bottle! (You can always count on grandmas to give you what you want.) My babies don't typically start drinking that much milk until they are 10 months old. This morning and probably every other day, she cries during and after her feedings so by evening time I give in and make her a bottle which she drinks like an addict getting her fix. She gained 2 pounds in 3 weeks and that was when I wouldn't supplement more than 2 to 4 oz of formula per day. Eric and I debate on whether we should just let her cry it out every day or give her the lovey bottle she so desires after each nursing session. Hanging Out in the Garage

Some of the things that Santa brought this past Christmas were some climbing harnesses. While we have yet to get out and use them someplace really dangerous, the kids have had a lot of fun hanging out in the garage.


Leaving the kids hanging in the garage really helps out with our nerves during the day, and they never complain except when we make them get down.


Reagan is the most adventurous. She has decided that hanging upside down is the only way to play this game.


We have also practiced raising and lowering in the garage with a rope. We hope to get out soon where I can raise and lower the kids a little higher, and help them get more comfortable on a rope.
