Lyndsee had her third surgery of the year on Thursday and the second one on her tear duct. Since she was born, Lyndsee's eyes were always encrusted with boogers. The first eye surgery was basically a rotor-rooter for her tear ducts. This worked for her right eye but not her left. On the second surgery, we were hoping they wouldn't have to make any incisions to fix it but apparently she doesn't have a passageway for her tears which they thought might be a possibility but didn't know for sure until they got into the surgery. So they had to create a passageway by drilling a little hole in the side of her nose.
They also inserted a little tube that will hold the tear duct open for the next 6 months. She will have to have a small 5 minute surgery to take it out after that time and then we will know if it all worked. This procedure does have a high success rate and the scar from the incision will fade away after a couple of years. Its hard to send your baby away to surgery kicking and screaming in the arms of strangers that you hope know what they're doing. I'm just so thankful that even though my baby has helped us make our high deductible each year since she was born, its all been small, resolvable issues.
Mommy and Lyndsee enjoying some cuddle time in recovery. This is a somewhat rare event that I totally enjoyed. Lyndsee loves her binki and her hair. Good thing she has her hair as her binki will be saying bye-bye in about 6 weeks.

Oh!! That last picture of you two is so adorable! Poor little Lyndsee! I hope she's doing better.
That has to be so hard to see and let your child go off to surgery. Lyndsee is so cute, its nice to see her pretty little face without all the eye junk. Hopefully her tube will do the trick : )
