The Shore of Lake Tahoe

We got to sleep in until 7:00 on Saturday morning, which was a nice break from early mornings.  We took the morning easy, having a nice breakfast, buying life preservers our kids really wanted and would never actually use, and getting geared up for a day on the lake.  We then went down to Zephyr Cove and met up with our friends the Goggiano family who live in Carson City, and have a boat at Lake Tahoe.

We found a nice section along the beach to make our base camp and have fun in the water.  The water was definitely cool, but we soon grew accustomed to the temperature, and had a lot of fun getting wet.

The kids had a fun time playing in a raft together, along with other water toys.  My kids enjoyed letting the Goggianos do all of the work for them.  We really need to teach them to help out a little more.

After we had been playing at the beach for a while, our travel companions for part of the trip, the Shifletts, made their debut.

The biggest excitement of the day was going out onto the lake on Goggiano's boat.  We went out to the middle of the lake, and then each of the kids got a chance to drive the boat for five minutes or so.  The first trip out included Dan, myself, Adam, Taylor, Will, Kyle and three of Dan's kids.  It was a lot of fun as the kids each tried to be the craziest boat driver of all.

We were out on the boat longer than we had realized (much, much, much longer than we realized), and we returned to a crying Reagan who missed getting on the first boat ride.  We worked out a deal were Cydnee, Amy, Erin, Adam and some of the kids went back to the condo to rest from the sun, and we took a shorter boat ride so Reagan could ride and drive the boat too.

We came back from the lake to find Cydnee, Erin, Adam and the kids having fun in the swimming pool.  The Goggianos went home after a fun day, and we had some pizza with the Shifletts and relaxed.

Your biggest excitement of the day should have been when the Shiflett's showed up. ;)
